The Pittsburgh Penguins will celebrate their Stanley Cup championship at the White House with President Barack Obama on Oct. 6 at noon ET.
The Penguins defeated the San Jose Sharks in six games in the Stanley Cup Final last season to win their fourth championship.

Pittsburgh will make its second trip to the White House during Obama's eight-year tenure as president. He hosted the Penguins on Sept. 10, 2009, after they defeated the Detroit Red Wings in seven games in the 2009 Stanley Cup Final.
The Penguins presidential trip will be earlier than most Cup champions; they will meet with Obama before he leaves office on Jan. 20.
