Bancks strikes twice again as Hurricanes sweep Hitmen from WHL playoffs @NHLdotcom

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - Carter Bancks scored a pair of goals for the second straight game as the Lethbridge Hurricanes beat the Calgary Hitmen 4-2 Wednesday to sweep the Western Hockey League Eastern Conference final.

Bancks scored the game's opening goal nine seconds into the second period, then capped off the Lethbridge win with an empty-net marker in the dying seconds. Craig Orfino and Dan Iwanski also scored for the Hurricanes, while Juha Metsola made 23 saves for his 12th win of the playoffs.

Calgary, swept for the first time in franchise history, got goals from Kyle Bortis and Michael Stone. Dan Spence made 24 saves in net.

Lethbridge now awaits the winner of the Western Conference final series between the Tri-City Americans and the Spokane Chiefs. That series is tied 2-2.
