Bancks scores twice as Hurricanes hammer Hitmen, take 3-0 East final lead @NHLdotcom

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - Carter Bancks scored a pair of goals and Juha Metsola made 25 saves as the Lethbridge Hurricanes routed the Calgary Hitmen 6-0 in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference final Tuesday night.

Craig Orfino, Adam Chorneyko, Mitch Fadden and Jeff May also added goals as the Hurricanes grabbed a 3-0 stranglehold on the series with Game 4 Wednesday in Lethbridge.

After playing to a scoreless tie through 20 minutes, Bancks opened the scoring on a wrap-around try just 28 seconds into the second period. Lethbridge would stretch the lead to 3-0 by the end of the frame and put the game away with a three-goal third. for Metsola, it was his third shutout of the playoffs and 11th victory.

Dan Spence started in net for Calgary, making 13 saves before being relieved by Martin Jones after the third goal. Jones made 11 stops.
