Bailey, Iafrate score 18 seconds apart as the Rangers come back to beat the IceDogs @NHL

KITCHENER, Ont. - Justin Bailey and Max Iafrate scored 18 seconds apart in the third period as the Kitchener Rangers came from behind to beat the visiting Niagara IceDogs 5-3 on Sunday afternoon in Ontario Hockey League action.

Niagara held a 3-1 lead heading into the third, but Kitchener scored four unanswered goals to steal the win.

Derek Schoenmakers had a goal and an assist for the Rangers (24-13-6), who have won three of their last four games, while Curtis Meighan and Jared Gilbert picked up two assists apiece.

Darby Llewellyn and Tobias Rieder also scored to round out Kitchener's offence.

Brendan Perlini, Luke Mercer and Mike Robinson replied for the IceDogs (23-18-3), who have lost five of their last six outings.

Joel Vienneau turned aside 27-of-30 shots for his second win in three starts for the Rangers since being acquired from the Sudbury Wolves. Brent Moran stopped 40 shots in a losing cause for the IceDogs.

Kitchener went 0 for 4 with the man advantage while Niagara went 2 for 3.

Perlini skated around a Rangers? defenceman and roofed a shot over Vienneau on the power play just 2:58 into the game to open the scoring

Schoenmakers tied the game in the second period when he snapped a loose puck past Moran in the high slot, but Mercer scored with the IceDogs on the power play and Robinson beat Vienneau between the pads on a 2-on-1 to increase Niagara's lead to 3-1.

Llewellyn pulled the Rangers within a goal at 3:25 of the third period after taking a pass across the slot from Meighan and slipping a shot through Moran???s pads.

Kitchener completed the comeback when Bailey tied the game at 8:19 and Iafrate scored the eventual winner 18 seconds later.

Rieder scored in the empty net in the final minute for some insurance.
