Brandon Saad's NHL experience was on full display Thursday night.
Saad scored four goals and added an assist to lead the Saginaw Spirit over the Brampton Battalion 5-2 Ontario Hockey League action.
Following a 27-goal, 55-point season with Saginaw, Saad was selected in the second round by the Chicago Blackhawks in June and made the team out of training camp. He played in two regular season games before being sent back to the Spirit, but he learned something very important during his short time with the pros.
"The biggest thing I learned coming back from Chicago was the commitment it takes to win," said Saad, who already has six goals and two assists in just three games.
Saad's return was timely for the Spirit (3-8-0), who lost seven of their eight games without him. They now have consecutive wins for the first time this season as they look to climb out of the West Division basement.
