Avs' Stastny to undergo surgery Tuesday @NHL

DENVER (AP) -Avalanche center Paul Stastny will have surgery Tuesday to repair his right forearm fractured in last week's game against Phoenix.

Stastny broke the arm after blocking a shot by the Coyotes' Olli Jokinen in a 5-4 overtime win Dec. 23 and is expected to be out six to eight weeks.

Team spokesman Damen Zier said coach Tony Granato spoke about Stastny's surgery and status at Sunday's practice.
