Plagued by injuries all season, the Colorado Avalanche
found out Sunday they won't be getting Kyle Quincey
back this season. The club announced the 25-year-old defenseman will undergo shoulder surgery.
"This is the best course of action for Kyle and his future," team physician Dr. Andrew Parker said. "After physical and diagnostic tests, the decision has been made to repair his shoulder at this time."
Quincey, a fourth-round pick by Detroit in the 2003 Entry Draft, is in his second season with the Avalanche and had 1 assist in 21 games. He injured the shoulder Dec. 11 in Washington. For his career, Quincey has 11 goals and 69 points in 185 games for the Red Wings, Kings and Avalanche.
