Avalanche's Kobasew fined $2,500 for tripping @NHLdotcom
NEW YORK -- Colorado Avalanche forward Chuck Kobasew has been fined $2,500, the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for tripping Vancouver Canucks defenseman Dan Hamhuis in NHL Game No. 770 in Colorado on Saturday, Feb. 4, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 13:20 of the second period. Kobasew received a minor penalty for tripping Hamhuis as the Vancouver player touched the puck on an icing call.

The fine money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
