The Colorado Avalanche welcomed their opponent Thursday with some southern-style hospitality.
The Avalanche gifted the Carolina Hurricanes candy canes and a cheery holiday card ahead of their game at Pepsi Center.
The Avalanche's note said "To Canes, our favorite Bunch of Jerks, happy holidays!" with what they called kale-flavored treats. Carolina appreciated the gesture.
The Hurricanes also shared a text exchange between themselves and the Avalanche in the leadup to the game, thus proving why they are good friends.
Carolina took the hospitality and made itself right at home, taking home a come-from-behind, 3-1 win against Colorado. We'll see if the Hurricanes return the favor when the Avalanche come to Raleigh for their final head-to-head meeting Feb. 28.
