The Colorado Avalanche placed goaltender Semyon Varlamov on injured reserve Sunday, retroactive to Nov. 10.
Varlamov has been sidelined with a groin injury sustained during practice last Wednesday. He is 3-6-1 with a 3.26 goals-against average and .890 save percentage in 10 games.
Colorado claimed forward Chris Wagner off waivers from the Anaheim Ducks to take Varlamov's place on the roster. Wagner appeared in 11 games for the Ducks this season and played three for their American Hockey League affiliate in San Diego.
