Nico Sturm gave the Stanley Cup a tour of his hometown of Augsburg, Germany on Saturday.

The former Colorado Avalanche forward brought the Cup to Augsburg Town Hall, where he met with Mayor Eva Weber.
"I'm still in awe of myself [winning the Stanley Cup], even if I can lift it up," Sturm said about his day with the Cup.

Sturm later brought the Cup to a celebration at Curt Frenzel Stadium, home of Augsburger Panther of the Deutsche Eishockey LIga, the top professional league in Germany. Hundreds of fans came out to see Sturm and the Cup.

"I think it was all-around a good day," Sturm said. "It was important for me, that the junior players and fans got the chance to see the Stanley Cup and maybe take a picture or even touch it."
After a whirlwind day, Sturm said he was looking forward to some private time with the trophy.
"I didn't have any opportunity and not even a few minutes to spend time with the Cup for myself yet," Sturm said. "Maybe tonight, when we'll have a private party in my parents' backyard."
The 27-year-old forward signed a three-year contract with the San Jose Sharks on July 13 after having 20 points (nine goals, 11) assists in 74 games with the Minnesota Wild and Avalanche, and two assists in 13 playoff games for Colorado.
