Erik Johnson St. Louis Blues 2018 February 8

ST. LOUIS--The Colorado Avalanche begins a back-to-back set this evening against the St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center. It will be the fifth of 11 such consecutive-night series for Colorado this season.

Goaltender Philipp Grubauer will start for the Avalanche versus the Blues in the first half of the back-to-back. Grubauer, who will see the ice for the fourth straight game, has a 7-2-2 record on the campaign and made 33 saves in his last start on Dec. 6 at the Florida Panthers, a 5-2 win for the Avs.
Head coach Jared Bednar said following Thursday's practice that Semyon Varlamov will guard the pipes in Saturday's home outing against the Dallas Stars.
Colorado won't make any other lineup changes for its 20th road contest of the season. Mark Alt will be the club's lone healthy scratch, while Alexander Kerfoot will miss his second straight contest with an upper-body injury.
Tonight is the second of four meetings between the Central Division clubs. St. Louis won 3-2 in overtime in the first matchup on Nov. 30 at Pepsi Center.
Below is the Avalanche's projected lineup for the outing in St. Louis. All line combinations and defensive pairings are subject to change.
