When Glen Murray is playing well, the Boston Bruins are likely to follow
The Bruins hope their star forward can continue his current run as they look
to extend a four-game unbeaten streak when they host the struggling Atlanta
Boston has won three straight and is 3-0-1 since Jan. 27, with Murray
scoring seven of the team's nine goals during that unbeaten streak.
Murray scored three goals in a game for the fifth time in his NHL career
Sunday as the Bruins beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-1. He has scored nine goals
in his last eight games after going 10 straight without one, and Boston is
18-6-6-3 when Murray records a point.
"You ask anyone, when you get a couple of goals in a row it seems like you
find the right spot," said Murray, who has three game-winning goals and a
tying goal in his last four games. "It wasn't going in for about a month even
though I was getting chances. It goes in cycles I guess."
Boston forward Mike Knuble had an assist against the Penguins, and is now
one shy of 100 for his NHL career. The assist was Knuble's first point since
scoring a goal against the Buffalo Sabres on Jan. 22.

Goalie Byron Dafoe (mild concussion) and defenseman Yannick Tremblay (hip
strain) did not play Saturday after getting hurt in Friday's 4-1 loss to the
Toronto Maple Leafs. Their status for this contest is uncertain.
The Thrashers have placed defensemen Garnet Exelby (hip) and Chris Tamer
(back) on injured reserve. Exelby has sat out five straight games and Tamer,
who played Friday, has missed nine of 10.
Atlanta has recalled goaltender Frederic Cassivi and defenseman Kurtis
Foster from Chicago of the AHL.
