NEW YORK -- Florida Panthers forward Jaromir Jagr will not play against the New York Islanders at Barclays Center on Tuesday (7 p.m. ET; FS-F, MSG+) because of the flu.
Jagr, 43, leads the Panthers (14-12-4) with 21 points (nine goals, 12 assists) in 28 games this season. His next goal will give him 732 in the NHL, one more than Marcel Dionne for fourth on the all-time list. Jagr tied Dionne last Thursday in a 4-1 win against the Washington Capitals.
With Jagr unable to play, the Panthers recalled forward Rocco Grimaldi from Portland of the American Hockey League. Grimaldi has one goal in 10 games for Florida this season and nine points (four goals, five assists) in 13 AHL games.
"He's your top scorer," Panthers coach Gerard Gallant said of Jagr. "Maybe one of the kids will have two or three goals tonight, who knows?"
Islanders forward Ryan Strome will return to the lineup after missing a 4-0 win against the New Jersey Devils on Sunday because of an upper-body injury. Strome has three goals and seven assists in 20 games.
New York (18-8-5) is 8-0-2 in its past 10 games and has moved into second place in the Metropolitan Division.
"Hopefully I can just come back in and do what I've been doing," Strome said. "The team's on a pretty good roll right now, so you've got to keep going."
