ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Two teams that each won in overtime Friday will play against each other on the Saturday when the St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild play at Xcel Energy Center.
The Blues defeated the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 in St. Louis while the Wild blew a three-goal lead in the second period, then came from behind in the third in a 5-4 win against the Dallas Stars.
St. Louis placed defenseman Jay Bouwmeester on injured reserve Saturday, which was simply a procedural move. Bouwmeester, who had his streak of 737 consecutive games snapped last Sunday against the Winnipeg Jets, has already missed the past three games with a lower-body injury and wasn’t going to play against the Wild anyway.
The move allowed the team to recall Petteri Lindbohm from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. Lindbohm leads Wolves defensemen with four goals and seven points in 18 games.
Defenseman Barret Jackman was injured when he blocked a shot with his leg in the third period Friday and did not return. X-rays taken after the game were negative and Jackman is expected to play Saturday, but Lindbohm's recall gives the Blues some insurance.
Forward Steve Ott sustained a groin injury Friday and didn't make the trip. Chris Porter takes his place in the lineup.
Minnesota also made a roster move Saturday, recalling defenseman Justin Falk from the AHL’s Iowa Wild. Falk has played in three games with Minnesota this season and 16 more with Iowa.
At 6-foot-5, Falk is bigger and plays a more physical game. He is expected to be in the lineup against a Blues team that has worn down the Wild with its physical play in the past.
The Wild announced on Saturday that rookie Matt Dumba was assigned to the Iowa Wild. He played six shifts and received four minutes of ice time Friday in Dallas. Dumba has a goal and three assists in 20 games this season, but his minus-4 rating is tied for lowest on the team.
Neither team skated Saturday morning ahead of the game.

Status report: Bouwmeester is expected to practice early next week and could return to the lineup in time for the Blues' next game Wednesday against the Chicago Blackhawks. ... Brodin didn’t find the scoresheet in his return to the lineup but was a plus-2 and skated more than 22 minutes Friday after missing seven games with what’s believed to be the mumps.
Who's hot: Pietrangelo had a goal and an assist in the win over the Oilers Friday and has three two-point games in his past four overall. ... Zucker scored a goal Friday and has four goals in his past five games. His nine goals this season have already more than doubled his previous career high, and is second-most on the team (Niederreiter, 11).
