Arturs Kulda scores twice as St. John's IceCaps beat Connecticut Whale 6-3 @NHLdotcom

HARTFORD, Conn. - Arturs Kulda scored twice as the St. John's IceCaps beat the Connecticut Whale 6-3 in American Hockey League play Friday.

Kulda's two goals, including one into an empty net, capped a four-goal third period for the IceCaps (3-3-0).

Spencer Machacek, Eric O'Dell, Shawn Weller and Carl Klingberg added one each for St. John's.

Kris Newbury, Ryan Bourque and John Mitchell had one apiece for the Whale (1-2-2).

IceCaps goaltender Edward Pasquale made 16 saves for the win, while at the other end Chad Johnson stopped 22 shots.
