Artur Lauta lifts Russia over Team QMJHL 3-2 in fifth game of series @NHL

ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. - Artur Lauta's goal late in the second period proved to be the decisive goal as Russia edged Team QMJHL 3-2 on Tuesday in the fifth game of an exhibition series between the Russians and all-stars from the Canadian Hockey League.

Anthony Richard and Nicolas Roy tied it 2-2 for Team QMJHL by the 15:07 mark of the second period before Lauta put away the go-ahead goal. Samuel Montembeault made 17 saves for the team of Quebec Major Junior Hockey League players.

Sergei Boikov and Andrey Svetlakov scored in the first period for Russia, which had lost the first four games of the series against teams from the Western Hockey League and the Ontario Hockey League.

Alexander Trushkov stopped 31-of-33 shots for the win.

Russia could not score on its two power plays, while Team QMJHL went 1 for 5 with the man advantage.

The sixth and final game of the series is in Halifax on Thursday.
