Down a goal, Reilly Smith tied the contest with 5:22 remaining in regulation and Brian Campbell scored at 1:20 of overtime as the Florida Panthers improved to 6-0-1 in their past seven games at the Detroit Red Wings dating to Nov. 20, 2009 (DET: 1-2-4), including wins in their past five visits to Joe Louis Arena.

* Campbell scored his second career overtime goal. The other: Dec. 1, 2005 at the Montreal Canadiens (w/Buffalo Sabres).

* Panthers goalie Roberto Luongo made 28 saves and is 8-8-3 this season (2.37 GAA, .924 SV%, 1 SO).

* Luongo played his 883rd career game and passed John Vanbiesbrouck (882) for sole possession of eighth on the NHL's all-time games played list among goaltenders. He trails Tony Esposito (886) by three games for seventh.


By virtue of an overtime loss, the Red Wings extended their overall point streak to seven games (4-0-3) and their home point streak to five (2-0-3). ... Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin (1-0—1) has scored in six of his past seven games (6-1—7) and leads all rookies with 10 goals (24 GP). Larkin ranks third in points among all rookies with 10-8—18, trailing Chicago Blackhawks forward Artemi Panarin (7-16—23 in 24 GP) and Arizona Coyotes forward Max Domi (8-12—20 in 23 GP). ... Larkin leads the Red Wings in goals and ranks second in points behind captain Henrik Zetterberg (4-16—20 in 23 GP). ... Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Garret Sparks will make his NHL debut Monday against the Edmonton Oilers.
