EDMONTON - Kevin Armstrong stopped 26 shots to lead the Prince George Cougars to a 4-3 victory over the Edmonton Oil Kings on Wednesday night in the Western Hockey League.

Marcus Watson scored the game winner for the Cougars (19-27-0-2) with 6:02 left in the third period, picking up a loose puck in front and backhanding the puck past Edmonton netminder Corrie Jung's blocker.

Jeff Lee opened the scoring for Edmonton (21-24-2-4), converting a shot from inside the right circle over Armstrong's shoulder at 9:04 of the first period after the Cougars netminder overplayed the angle.

The Oil Kings went up by two when T.J. Foster capitalized on a rebound chance after Brent Raedeke's wraparound attempt was stymied by Armstrong at 15:24.

Just 2:12 later, Justin Maylan pulled the Cougars within one with a tip-in goal past Jung's left pad on a wrist shot from the blue-line by Brian Matte.

Corey Tyrell evened things up at 2-2 at 3:25 of the second period, wristing one off the post and in over Jung's right pad.

Robin Soudek restored the lead for Edmonton with a shot above Armstrong's blocker halfway through the period.

Marek Vidensky tied it up again less than a minute into the third period, poking home a rebound past Jung, who made 15 saves in defeat.
