Coyotes honor Kessel with video, gifts for 1,000-game milestone

Phil Kessel, noted Stanley Cup champion, has some more silver hardware to his name now that he's reached the 1,000 NHL regular-season game mark.

The Arizona Coyotes honored the forward before their game against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday with a tribute video and an array of gifts, including the customary silver stick. Kessel also received a Rolex watch from the team and a Tiffany & Co. crystal plaque from the NHL presented by Shane Doan.
Kessel's dad Phil Sr., mom Kathy, and brother Blake joined him for the pregame ceremony.

On social media, the Coyotes asked fans to tweet their well wishes to Kessel, and former Coyotes player Jeremy Roenick delivered a special message.

Kessel became the 335th player in NHL history and the 21st active player to skate in 1,000 regular-season games during the Coyotes' game against the Colorado Avalanche on Oct. 11. Kessel, in his 14th NHL season, was traded to Arizona in June and previously played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins.
