ARI@CHI: Strome one-times dish on power play for lead

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Blackhawks won their third straight game with Derek King as coach, 2-1 against the Arizona Coyotes at United Center on Friday.

Dylan Strome broke a 1-1 tie on the power play at 9:26 of the third period off a pass from Patrick Kane. It was his first goal of the season.
"Yeah, just a good feeling," Strome said. "Been awhile since I scored a goal, especially at home, with the crowd, so it felt great. [I] kind of shot it right at him and it squeaked through there. 'Kaner' made a great pass. I'll take that one for sure. Felt great."
The Blackhawks killed a 6-on-4 Coyotes power play for the final 1:26 of the third period after Seth Jones was called for hooking and goalie Scott Wedgewood pulled for an extra attacker.
"Well, it's huge," King said. "When I first got here, you could just see how fragile they were. They're enjoying it. It's not pretty sometimes, but that's the game. They're battling for each other, they're playing hard, they're trying. We're getting some great goaltending and we're just finding ways to win."
Alex DeBrincat scored, and Marc-Andre Fleury made 22 saves for Chicago (4-9-2).

ARI@CHI: DeBrincat buries nice dish for opening goal

Andrew Ladd scored, and Wedgewood made 27 saves in his first start for the Coyotes (1-12-1), who are 0-8-1 on the road.
"He was rock solid," Coyotes coach Andre Tourigny said. "He kept us there. I think we had too many breakdowns, a few breakaways. 'Wedgy' is really good."
DeBrincat gave the Blackhawks a 1-0 lead 5:26 into the second period. Playing with an extra attacker because of a delayed penalty, Kane took the puck behind the Blackhawks goal line, skated into the offensive zone and made a backhand pass to DeBrincat, who scored from the left face-off circle.
The Coyotes challenged for a missed game stoppage, claiming they had touched the puck, but the goal was confirmed by video review because the puck came out of the attacking zone between the time of the missed game stoppage event and the time the goal was scored.
"They had a delayed penalty; we touched the puck," Tourigny said. "We had full control of the puck. But the rule is if the puck goes out of the zone, then you cannot challenge it. It's from the last time the puck gets in the zone. They attack on the rush and they score, but on the previous possession when they had a shot on net, [Kyle] Capobianco had full control of the puck, and that should have been a whistle there. Obviously there was no whistle. That's why we challenged it."

ARI@CHI: Ladd goes far side for power-play goal

Ladd tied it 1-1 at 1:41 of the third period on the power play, scoring from the top of the right face-off circle. Capobianco had an assist, his first in the NHL, in his season debut.
"'Ladder' made a great play on that," Capobianco said. "I really didn't do much on that. He made a [heck] of a great shot."
Capobianco delivered a high hit to Blackhawks forward Kirby Dach at 4:40 of the third period. No penalty was called, but Dach went to the dressing room bleeding from his face. He later returned.
"I didn't know that I got him that high," Capobianco said. "I thought I got him with my shoulder and maybe his hand got him. But I didn't know he was bleeding until after. I'm glad nothing bad happened to him."
King said he did not have a good look at the play.
"You've got to get used to having that camera down on the floor," King said. "I'm usually standing on it, I don't see a lot. I feel the referees, it's tough on them. They don't always get to see the right call, and when you look on the camera like, in [slow motion], it looks like maybe the shoulder comes up a little high on him. But we'll have to look at it again … and we'll take a peek at it. Again, it's a call that happens quick, he's down, play's going, it's not an easy call."
