Andrew Peeke signed a three-year, $8.25 million contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday. It has an average annual value of $2.75 million and runs through the 2025-26 season.

The 24-year-old defenseman is in the final season of a two-year, $1.575 million contract ($787,500 AAV) he signed Aug. 9, 2021, and could have become a restricted free agent after the season.
Peeke had 15 points (two goals, 13 assists) in 82 games last season. He led the Blue Jackets and was tied for fifth in the NHL with 169 blocked shots. He led Columbus defensemen with 191 hits.
"Andrew is a smart, versatile defenseman who moves the puck well, added an element of physicality to his game last season and showed that he can play effectively in all situations," Columbus general manager Jarmo Kekalainen said. "He arguably was our most improved player a year ago and we are excited to see what the future holds for him as he continues to develop and progress as a player."
A second-round pick (No. 34) in the 2016 NHL Draft, Peeke has 21 points (three goals, 18 assists) in 115 games with the Blue Jackets.
