Desjardins to have hearing with Player Safety
Rangers forward faces discipline from NHL for hit on Wood of Devils

New York Rangers forward Andrew Desjardins will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Monday for an illegal check to the head against New Jersey Devils forward Miles Wood during a game at Prudential Center on Saturday.
The incident occurred at 8:06 of the first period. Desjardins received a match penalty. Wood left the game briefly, but returned.
The Devils defeated the Rangers 2-1.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: illegal check to the head. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
