Getzlaf Sherwood

The Anaheim Ducks got so caught up in staring at Ryan Getzlaf's hair that they almost missed Kiefer Sherwood.

A photo from 2007 of Getzlaf, the now-follically challenged Ducks center, with rookie forward Sherwood and his brother Kole, circulated around the Anaheim locker room Wednesday, and the players glossed over the Ducks rookie because they were checking out Getzlaf's spectacular mane of years ago.

Kiefer, 23, made the Ducks out of training camp and played his first NHL game against the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday, Anaheim's season opener. Before Kiefer's debut, Kole, 21, shared the photo that was taken in New York on Twitter.

"That's a photo with a lot of meaning right there," Kiefer told the Ducks website.
The Sherwoods are from Columbus, Ohio, hence the Columbus Blue Jackets jerseys the brothers are wearing in the photo. Kole also is a hockey player; he will start the 2018-19 season with Cleveland of the American Hockey League. We'll see if Kiefer has a retro photo lined up if and when Kole makes his NHL debut.
