Rickard Rakell tied it for Anaheim with 1:15 remaining in the third period.

Lindholm, a defenseman, won it when he took a pass from Getzlaf and beat Jaroslav Halak from the right face-off circle. Rakell made it 4-4 when he got a rebound near the left side of the net and swept it over the goal line.
Anaheim is 2-2-1 on a six-game road trip that ends Saturday.
"I think that's a turning point for us," Lindholm said. "This road trip has kind of been a bad spiral going the wrong way here. But we dug deep here. Now we've just got to roll with this and keep going forward."

John Tavares (two goals, assist) and Josh Bailey (three assists) had their fifth consecutive multipoint games for the Islanders (18-13-4), who trailed 3-1 then led 4-3. Halak made 35 saves.
"Giving up five goals is just too many," Tavares said. "We've got to find a way to be better defensively, starting with myself, on for three (goals) again. We're scoring enough goals, we've just got to tighten up and limit their opportunities. It's a frustrating one, especially when you come back and play a better second half of the game than we did in the first half."
Andrew Ladd gave the Islanders a 4-3 lead at 7:52 of the third period when he took a drop pass from Jordan Eberle and scored on a wrist shot from the slot.
Tavares tied it 3-3 at 5:44 of the third when he took a pass from Bailey in the right face-off circle. It was Bailey's NHL-leading 35th assist; he has a seven-game point streak.

Tavares made it 3-2 with a power-play goal at 16:59 of the second period when he redirected Bailey's pass for his 20th goal of the season.
Lindholm scored his second at 12:36 of the second for a 3-1 lead. Getzlaf won an offensive zone face-off against Tavares back to Lindholm.
"He's a pretty dynamic defenseman," Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said of Lindholm, who has six goals this season. "He's not really known for his offensive prowess as much as his skating ability and defending ability, but as we know, he's got a lot more to give. He's just a young defenseman (23) still developing. It's nice to see he was rewarded with the three goals tonight."

Lindholm gave the Ducks a 1-0 lead 8:09 into the first period, and Kase made it 2-0 at 9:54.
Mathew Barzal made it 2-1 during a 5-on-3 when he one-timed Bailey's cross-ice pass at 5:39 of the second period.
"Our starts have made it an uphill battle right from the get-go," Ladd said. "It's not the way we want to start games. But in saying that, we battled back to get the lead. We've got find ways to seal the deal there."

They said it

"I don't know; it doesn't feel too special. It's just nice to get a win. I think when I look back at it, I think it's going to be something special." -- Ducks defenseman Hampus Lindholm on his first NHL hat trick, in his 325th game
"Every game is tough, so everybody goes through it. That's part of the deal. Yeah, it's draining a bit, but everybody's in the same boat, everybody needs points every night. We have to exit it from our mind and keep confidence up in the room at times like this." -- Islanders coach Doug Weight
