ANAHEIM, Calif. - Anaheim defenceman Mathieu Schneider cleared waivers Wednesday and remained on the Ducks' roster.
The 39-year-old NHL veteran wasn't claimed by another team after being placed on waivers a day earlier. He had 12 goals and 27 assists in 65 games for the Ducks last season. Schneider appeared in all six playoff games, with one goal.
He had a plus-or-even rating in 32 consecutive games from Dec. 18-March 5, the longest streak in the league last season.
He has played for seven teams during his 20-year NHL career, including the Los Angeles Kings.
Schneider signed a US$11.25-million, two-year contract in July 2007, before the Ducks knew for sure that Scott Niedermayer was going to return.
