Miller could make Anaheim debut; Darling to start for Carolina

The Game

Ryan Miller could make his Anaheim Ducks debut when they try to complete a back-to-back road sweep against the Carolina Hurricanes at PNC Arena on Sunday.

Miller was activated from injured reserve on Saturday and dressed as John Gibson's backup for Anaheim's 4-1 win at the Tampa Bay Lightning. Miller has yet to play this season because of a wrist injury.

It's the finale of the Ducks' four-game road trip; Rickard Rakell scored twice in the win against the Lightning.

Ducks defenseman Sami Vatanen, who missed the first nine games of the season recovering from shoulder surgery, received 17:12 of ice time in his season debut Saturday.

Scott Darling will start in goal for the Hurricanes, who have lost three of four, including a 2-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Friday. Jeff Skinner scored his team-leading sixth goal for Carolina.

 

Players to watch

Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf had three assists Saturday. He has five points (one goal, four assists) in the past three games.

Skinner has six points (four goals, two assists) in the past five games.

Status report

Ducks forward Kalle Kossila and defenseman Steven Oleksy were reassigned to San Diego of the American Hockey League on Saturday. ... Teravainen, who sustained an upper-body injury in the second period Friday and did not return, will be a game-time decision.
