Americans score early, often against Winterhawks as Tri-City dumps Portland 6-0 @NHLdotcom

KENNEWICK, Wash. - The Tri-City Americans scored three goals in the first 52 seconds Tuesday and Alex Pechurskiy finished with 31 saves in a nasty 6-0 victory over the Portland Winterhawks in Western Hockey League play.

Justin Feser, Johnny Lazo and Mason Wilgosh scored the first three goals for Tri-City, while Feser added another in the third period. Jordan Messier rounded out the scoring for the American with a pair of power-play goals in a game that featured 147 penalty minutes.

Kruise Reddick had three assists for the Americans (42-17-3), who extended their lead to five points over Everett in the U.S. Division.

Starter Mac Carruth and Ian Curtis combined for 30 saves for Portland (38-23-3), which rolled up 103 penalty minutes.
