Alphonso gets hat trick, Jeffrey adds five assists as Hounds beat Ottawa 6-2 @NHLdotcom

OTTAWA - Arron Alphonso's hat trick helped the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds down the Ottawa 67's 6-2 and maintain the Greyhounds' league-best record in OHL action Sunday night.

Dustin Jeffrey had a hand in every Greyhounds goal, collecting five assists, and scoring one himself at 4:44 in the third period. Winger Josh Godfrey scored twice for Sault Ste. Marie, and Chris MacKinnon chipped in with three assists.

Matt Lahey counted for all of Ottawa's offence, scoring his first two goals of the season. Thomas Kiriakou added two assists.

Kyle Gajewski gets the win for Sault Ste. Marie (7-0-1-0), making 14 saves, while Chris Perugini was solid in net for the 67's (4-1-0-2), blocking 28 of 32 shots in the loss.
