Almond's shootout winner leads Kelowna to 4-3 triumph over Kelowna @NHLdotcom

KELOWNA, B.C. - Cody Almond scored the shootout winner as the Kelowna Rockets defeated the Kamloops Blazers 4-3 in WHL action on Saturday night.

Colin Long, with two goals, and Brandon McMillan also scored for Kelowna (21-14-0-0), which rallied from an early deficit and is now 4-0 against Kamloops this season. The Rockets trailed 2-0 after the first period, but Long levelled the score with power-play goals - his 18th and 19th of the season - in the second.

Zak Stebner, Giffen Nyren and Jimmy Bubnick, who forced overtime midway through the third following a turnover, replied for Kamloops (14-19-1-4), which was outshot 42-14, including 20-3 in the second.

Justin Leclerc had an outstanding game for the Blazers, making 39 saves.

Kris Lazaruk stopped 11 shots for the Rockets.
