Aliu's two goals and assist lead Knights to 4-2 win over Spitfires

WINDSOR, Ont. - Akim Aliu had two goals and an assist to lead the surging London Knights to a 4-2 decision over the Windsor Spitfires.

The victory extended the Knights' winning streak to eight games.

A former Spitfire, Aliu was the target of the Windsor Arena's boo birds all evening. He opened the scoring in the first period before Adam Henrique's 15th goal of the season tied the game.

London scored twice early in the second period on goals by Justin Taylor and Vladimir Roth to take a 3-1 lead into the final stanza.

Aliu added his second goal of the game before rookie star Taylor Hall notched his 27th of the season for the Spits in the third period.

Jason Guy faced 32 shots the Knights' winning game while Andrew Engelage contended with 27 at the other end.

As a result of the win, the Knights (30-16-2-2) moved within a point of the Spitfires (28-14-5-4) in the race for third place overall in the OHL's Western Conference standings.
