Center Alexander Burmistrov was claimed off waivers by the Arizona Coyotes from the Winnipeg Jets on Monday.

Burmistrov, 25, has two assists in 23 games.

"We are pleased to acquire Alexander through the waiver process," Coyotes general manager John Chayka said. "He's someone our scouts identified as having greater potential than he has currently shown. We're hopeful a change will help his game."

Selected by the Atlanta Thrashers with the No. 8 pick of the 2010 NHL Draft, Burmistrov had 30 goals and 81 points in 298 NHL games with the Jets/Thrashers franchise.
