Alex Rodgers scores OT winner as Cougars edge Chiefs 2-1 @NHLdotcom

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. - Alex Rodgers scored the overtime winner as the Prince George Cougars beat the Spokane Chiefs 2-1 in Western Hockey League action Saturday.

Rodgers put the winner past Chiefs goaltender James Reid just 2:32 into OT as the Cougars improved to 1-1.

Mark Viedensky scored in the first period for Prince George.

That lead held until Levko Koper's goal in the third sent it to extra time.

James Priestner stopped 35 shots for the Cougars, while Reid made 25 saves for Spokane (1-0-1).
