SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. - Alex Racino's goal in the second period held up as the winner Wednesday as the Sudbury Wolves defeated the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 2-1 in the Ontario Hockey League.
Racino converted a feed from Matthew Campagna at 1:04 for his first of the season. Kristoff Kontos also scored for the Wolves (15-10-1), who got 35 saves from Joel Vienneau.
The Wolves lost the services of forward Michael Sgarbossa in the third period after a hit in the Greyhounds zone. He left the ice favouring his left leg, but the extent of his injury following the game was unknown.
Brett Findlay scored the lone goal of the Greyhounds (14-14-3). Jack Campbell stopped 28 shots in the loss.
Saut Ste. Marie has dropped nine of its last ten games, with five of those losses coming by two goals or less.
