OTTAWA - Alex Pietrangelo scored the only goal of the shootout and added three assists in regulation as the Niagara IceDogs blew a 4-2 third-period lead before rebounding for a 5-4 victory over the Ottawa 67's in OHL play Friday night.

Gianluca Caputi scored twice while Stefan Legein and Andrew Agozzino added singles for Niagara (2-1-0).

Jamie McGinn scored twice for Ottawa (3-0-0-1), while rookie Ryan Martindale had first OHL goal. Thomas Nesbitt also scored for the 67's.

IceDogs goalie Andrew Lovelock made 41 saves including stopping Matt Cowie on a penalty shot in overtime to preserve the win.

Adam Courchaine made 27 saves in net for the 67's.

"It's a loss," said 67's coach and general manager Brian Kilrea. "The tough part is we came back in the third period and then both teams had chances in the overtime but we had the first couple, especially with the penalty shot but we couldn't put it away. Give them A for effort - they worked."

Both teams capitalized during 5-on-3 man advantages, but the was all the power-play scoring they could manage. The 67's finished 1-for-8 while the IceDogs converted once on three chances.
