Alex Ovechkin's single days are over.
A Washington Capitals spokesperson confirmed that Ovechkin, who will turn 31 on Sept. 17, and model Nastya Shubskaya were recently married in a "small private wedding." The Capitals captain posted a photo on Twitter and Instagram on Sunday of two intertwined hands wearing wedding bands and a caption below in Russian saying, "This is happiness."

Ovechkin announced his engagement to Shubskaya, whose mother is actress and director Vera Glagoleva and father is shipbuilding entrepreneur Kirill Shubskiy,

with a photo and a caption that translates to "She said yes." The couple had been dating since early 2015.
Ovechkin was spotted in St. Petersburg, Russia, on Thursday attending former Detroit Red Wings forward Pavel Datsyuk's home debut with SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL.
Ovechkin has spent the summer in Russia preparing for the upcoming World Cup of Hockey 2016 and the NHL season. Team Russia opens its World Cup training camp on Sept. 5 in St. Petersburg and will play a pretournament game there against Team Czech Republic on Sept. 8 (12:30 p.m. ET; ESPN 3, Sportsnet, TVA Sports).
Ovechkin helped the Capitals win the Presidents' Trophy last season and led the NHL in goals (50) for the fourth straight season.
