Alex Ovechkin flips stick to young fan in Edmonton

Capitals captain makes child's night prior to game against Oilers

A young fan of Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin was hoping to get a glimpse of the superstar up close at their game at the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday.

Ovechkin spotted the child wearing his jersey on the other side of the ice during warm-ups and pointed him out to equipment manager Brock Myles. Moments later, Ovechkin skated over and tossed his stick over the boards to the fan.
Judging by the look on the child's face, the trip to Rogers Place was more than worth it.
