The Washington Capitals showed the world a new way to drink out of the Stanley Cup, and talk show host Jimmy Fallon just had to go bottoms up.

Alex Ovechkin and Braden Holtby made an appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Monday with the Stanley Cup in tow to talk about winning the championship. Holtby also revealed his guitar playing might have been a lucky charm for the Capitals this season.

After the interview, Fallon, Ovechkin and Holtby were joined by jockey Mike Smith, who won horse racing's Triple Crown with Justify on Saturday, for a drink out of the Stanley Cup.
But after not getting very far with straws, Fallon had Holtby and Ovechkin help him pop Ovechkin's now famous "Cup stand" that he broke out on the streets of Washington over the weekend.
If you're going to drink out of the Stanley Cup, you have to do it like a champion.
