Alex Friesen's two goals help IceDogs down Mississauga St. Michael's Majors 4-2

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - Alex Friesen scored twice in the first period for Niagara as the IceDogs downed the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors 4-2 in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday.

Friesen's first came 2:50 into the game and he double the Niagara lead at 13:29 of the opening period. Jordan Mayer got the Majors (2-2-0-0) on the board 8:22 into the second period on a man-advantage.

But Andrew Agozzino made it 3-1 Niagara (2-2-1-0) at 13:13.

Chris DeSousa scored for the IceDogs late in the second to make it 4-1 heading to the third.

Mayer's second power-play goal of the night for the Majors came at 5:25 of the third period to make it 4-2, but they would get no closer.

The Majors outshot the IceDogs 52-24.

Mark Visentin got the win, while JP Anderson took the loss.
