Alex Aleardi scores two goals and an assist as Plymouth beats Erie 6-2 @NHLdotcom

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Alex Aleardi scored two goals and added an assist as the Plymouth Whalers beat the Erie Otters 6-2 in Ontario Hockey League action Saturday night.

Rookie Mitchell Dempsey, Plymouth's first-round pick in last May's OHL draft, scored and added a pair of assists.

Stefan Noesen, Mitchell Heard and Rickard Rakell added single goals for the Whalers (1-1-0).

Scott Wedgewood, just back from New Jersey Devils' camp, made 20 saves for the win in goal.

For the Otters (0-2-0), Greg McKegg and Brett Thompson scored and Tyson Teichmann stopped 47 shots.
