BRAMPTON, Ont. - John McFarland had a goal and two assists and Alain Valiquette stopped 32 shots for the shutout as the Sudbury Wolves blanked the Brampton Battalion 3-0 in Ontario Hockey League action Sunday.
Eric O'Dell opened the scoring for Sudbury during a 5-on-3 advantage 5:26 into the game. Parked at the side of the net, O'Dell converted a John McFarland feed past Brampton goaltender Patrick Killeen.
The Wolves (5-8-1) doubled their lead at the 18:10 mark of the second period on another power-play goal when McFarland's wrister from just inside the blue-line got through traffic and eluded Killeen.
Kyle Tarini closed out the scoring in the third, switching from forehand to backhand on Killeen at 11:45. It wasn't Killeen's best outing, as he surrendered three goals on 14 shots and Brampton dropped to 4-6-1.
