Akeson scores OT winner to cap comeback as Kitchener edges Saginaw @NHLdotcom

KITCHENER, Ont. - Jason Akeson scored his fifth goal of the season 47 seconds into overtime to lift the Kitchener Rangers over the Saginaw Spirit 6-5 in Ontario Hockey League action Friday night.

Akeson also added two assists in regulation for Kitchener (3-0-0-1), while John Moore scored the tying goal with 13 seconds remaining in the third period, giving him two goals and an assist on the night. Chris MacKinnon, Jeff Skinner and Jeremy Morin also scored.

Nick Crawford and Jordan Skellett both had three-point games for the Spirit (3-2-1-0), Crawford with two goals and an assist and Skellett with a goal and two assists. Ivan Telegin and Josh Shalla added goals.

Brandon Maxwell made 30 saves for the Rangers, while Saginaw netminder Anthony Peters stopped 43 shots.
