RALEIGH, NC - The Finnish Ice Hockey Association today announced that Carolina Hurricanes forwards Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen will represent Finland at the 2018 IIHF World Championships. The tournament will be held from May 4-20 in Denmark.

Aho, 20, registered 65 points (29g, 36a) in 78 games in 2017-18, leading the Hurricanes with career-highs in points, goals and power-play goals (8). The Rauma, Finland, native also led the team in game-winning goals (4) and ranked second in assists. Aho (5'11", 172 lbs.) was selected by the Hurricanes in the second round, 35th overall, in the 2015 NHL Draft, and has totaled 114 points (53g, 61a) in 160 career NHL games. Aho has represented Finland in a number of international competitions, including the 2014 U18 World Junior Championship, the 2015 and 2016 World Junior Championships, the 2016 and 2017 IIHF World Championships and the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
Teravainen, 23, totaled 64 points (23g, 41a) in 82 games in 2017-18, leading the Hurricanes in assists and ranking second in points and plus/minus (+8). A native of Helsinki, Teravainen (5'11", 178 lbs.) was acquired by the Hurricanes from the Chicago Blackhawks on June 15, 2016, and has earned 150 points (55g, 95a) in 278 career NHL games. His international experience for Finland includes the 2012 U-18 World Junior Championship the 2013 and 2014 World Junior Championships and the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
