BATHURST, N.B. - The Acadie-Bathurst Titans are staying put.

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League team held a news conference Monday to state it is staying in northern New Brunswick and not moving to St. John's, N.L., as was expected.

The Titans had a tentative agreement with St. John's Sports and Entertainment to move the team to Newfoundland for next season.

St. John's Sports and Entertainment says it is disappointed with the decision.

St. John's city council held a special session to approve the tentative agreement on the belief that the team would be playing out of Mile One Stadium in the fall.
