Abbotsford Heat rally late in the third period, beat Texas Stars 3-2 in shootout @NHLdotcom

CEDAR PARK, Texas - Ben Walter scored the shootout winner as the Abbotsford Heat rallied to beat the Texas Stars 3-2 in American Hockey League action Friday.

Trailing 2-0 late in the third period, the Heat's Brendan Mikkelson scored at 15:56 on a power play before Raitis Ivanas' goal with 47 seconds left forced extra time.

Walter, Jon Rheault and Dustin Sylvester each scored for Abbotsford (9-4-1) in the shootout, while Texas shooters failed to beat Heat goaltender Leland Irving.

Matt Fraser and Raymond Sawada each scored in the second period for the Stars (6-5-1).

Irving finished with 34 saves, while at the other end Richard Bachman stopped 20 shots.
