ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Aaron Palushaj scored to lift the Hamilton Bulldogs past the Rochester Americans 5-4 in American Hockey League play Friday.
Palushaj's goal 7:14 into the third period with the Bulldogs on a 5-on-3 man advantage held up as the winner after eight goals were scored in the first two periods.
Mitch Wahl scored twice for Hamilton (13-14-4), while Andreas Engqvist and Gabriel Dumont added singles.
Derek Whitmore, Phil Varone, Mark Voakes and Paul Szczechura each scored for the Americans (15-13-5).
Hamilton took advantage of the chippy play by going 3 for 5 on the power play, while Rochester scored twice on eight opportunities.
Bulldogs goaltender Robert Mayer made 35 saves for the win, while at the other end Drew MacIntyre and David Leggio combined to stop 25 shots.
