A look at the top remaining free agents

With September here and training camps now just a few days away, there are a number of free agents still looking for some place to play, either with the team they played for in 2009-10 or one that has a hole it hopes to fill.

Here's a look at some of the top unrestricted free agents still on the market:

Bill Guerin Pittsburgh 21-24-45 in 78 GP Still a 20-goal scorer at age 39, he's at Flyers training camp on a tryout deal.
Darcy Tucker Colorado 10-14-24 in 71 GP 35-year-old career pest is also looking for a new home.
Brendan Morrison Washington 12-30-42 in 74 GP Not the All-Star he used to be, but could still fill useful role with the right team.
Scott Walker Washington 5-3-8 in
42 GP
Caps aren't bringing back the 37-year-old winger after acquiring him from Carolina at the trade deadline.
Miroslav Satan Boston 9-5-14 in 38 GP Showed in the playoffs that he still has some scoring ability at age 35.
Ruslan Fedotenko Pittsburgh 11-19-30 in 80 GP Two-time Cup winner looking for a home at age 31 after disappointing finish in Pittsburgh. He's in Rangers camp for a tryout.
Owen Nolan Minnesota 16-17-33 in 73 GP At 38, he's still offensively useful and can be a physical force at times.
Kyle Wellwood Vancouver 14-11-25 in 75 GP Good hands and useful in shootouts; might flourish with some big wingers.

Shane Hnidy Minnesota 2-12-14 in 70 GP 34-year-old defenseman still adds a physical edge and can be a useful bottom pair or depth player. 
Kim Johnsson Chicago 7-10-17 in 60 GP Missed Hawks' Cup run with concussion and will also have to show he's healthy.
Mike Mottau New Jersey 2-16-18 in 79 GP Late bloomer (32) who found a home in New Jersey; may have to show he can thrive in another system.
Paul Mara Montreal 0-8-8 in
42 GP
Former first-rounder wants to show he's got something left after missing most of the second half with a shoulder injury that required surgery.
Mathieu Schneider Phoenix 2-7-9 in
25 GP
Took a regular turn in Phoenix after coming at the trade deadline, but will have to prove he has something left at age 41.
Garnet Exelby Toronto 1-3-4 in
51 GP
Never much of a points producer, at 29 he can still lend a physical presence as a depth defenseman. In Rangers camp for a tryout.
Lucas Krajicek Philadelphia 1-2-3 in
50 GP
27-year-old is looking for a new home after becoming the odd man out in Philadelphia's revamped D.
Marc-Andre Bergeron Montreal 13-21-34 in 60 GP Still has that big gun from the point, especially on PP, but not nearly as good in his own zone.
