The San Jose Sharks celebrated Joe Thornton's 1,000th NHL assist by taking a trip down memory lane.
After Thornton reached the milestone in a 3-2 win against the Winnipeg Jets on Monday, the Sharks posted a video montage highlighting his best assists in 12 seasons with San Jose.

Thornton became the 13th player in NHL history to reach 1,000 when he assisted on Joe Pavelski's third-period goal. The 37-year-old center has 785 assists with the Sharks, and had 285 in 532 games with the Boston Bruins.
The Sharks will honor Thornton's milestone with a ceremony before their game against the Washington Capitals on Thursday (10:30 p.m. ET; CSN-CA, CSN-DC, NHL.TV). They'll also honor Thornton's accomplishment, and forward Patrick Marleau's 500th NHL goal which he scored Feb. 2, by giving away an awesome puck.
