7 different players score for the Whalers in 8-4 victory over the Storm @NHLdotcom

GUELPH, Ont. - A five-goal first period by the Plymouth Whalers set the pace as they downed the Guelph Storm 8-4 on Friday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Alex Aleardi scored twice for the Whalers (11-6-3) while Andy Bathgate, Stefan Noesen, Mitchell Heard, Garrett Meurs, Beau Schmitz and Rickard Rakell added the others.

Hunter Garlent, Cody McNaughton, Scott Kosmachuk and Tanner Richard scored for the Storm (8-6-3).

Scott Wedgewood made 26 saves for the win while Garret Sparks allowed all eight goals against on 44 shots for the loss.

Plymouth went 1-for-7 on the powerplay while Guelph scored twice on five opportunities with the man advantage.
