At 19:00 of the third period in the Predators/Stars game, the Situation Room initiated a review under the terms of a Coach's Challenge to review whether Dallas was off-side prior to Jason Spezza's goal. 

After reviewing all available replays and consulting with NHL Hockey Operations staff, the Linesman determined that the Stars entered the attacking zone legally prior to the goal.

DALLAS -- Jason Spezza scored his seventh NHL hat trick, and Antti Niemi made 28 saves to help the Dallas Stars win the Central Division with a 3-2 victory against the Nashville Predators at American Airlines Center on Saturday.

Dallas (50-23-9, 109 points) will be the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Stars will play the Minnesota Wild, the second wild card into the playoffs from the West, in the best-of-7 first round.

FRISCO, Texas -- The Dallas Stars have not finished as the top seed in the Western Conference since 2003 and have not won a division title since 2006, but they could get both with a win against the Nashville Predators on Saturday at American Airlines Center (8 p.m ET; FS-TN, FS-SW+, NHL.TV).

Dallas (49-23-9) is tied with the St. Louis Blues for first place in the West and Central Division with 107 points, but the Stars hold the advantage in the first tiebreaker (regulation/overtime wins, 47-44).

DALLAS -- The Dallas Stars look to clinch the top seed in the Western Conference and the Central Division title Saturday with a win against the Nashville Predators at American Airlines Center.

The Stars are seeking to finish first in the Western Conference for the first time since 2002-03 and win their first division title since 2005-06, when they were in the Pacific Division.
